Small meetings have a legacy in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Imagine years gone by when artists - with their brushes, quills, chisels, and lenses - retreated to Carmel Beach and regaled one another with tales around the bonfire late into the night. Now meetings tend to be more executive or business-based in nature and meeting rooms and space have replaced the bonfire environment.

You, too, can retreat to the beach (bonfire or not); it's only a short stroll from Carmel Lodge. But for the serious agenda items, our private conference room, accommodating up to twenty guests, is ideally suited. And catering is available from Kurt's Carmel Chop House. Of course, high-speed wireless Internet access is provided for your convenience.

Did you know that many fan-favorite and critically-acclaimed movies, showcasing larger-than-life celebrities have been filmed on location on or near to the Monterey Peninsula? It's true. Cannery Row with Nick Nolte is one. Thriller, Play Misty for Me is another. The latter, of course, starred Carmel's own (and ex-Mayor) Clint Eastwood. Is it the area's natural beauty and drop-dead picturesque scenery that attracts movie-makers? Maybe the gracious hospitality? Or perhaps a fascination with the central coast California lifestyle?
